Tell us about your self and your journey experience.
My name is Dalene and I am a Travel Addict! My husband and I have been touring the world nomadically since 2009 and have visited fifty four countries collectively in our lifetime! We’ve seen most of South America, Europe, and little bits of nearly everywhere else.
Where did you go in your tour and the way lengthy was it?
I’ve been on solely a few excursions over the previous few years as my husband and I typically journey slowly and independently.
Most recently we accomplished a tour that began in Nairobi, Kenya, then took us all through Tanzania (including the amazing Serengeti), and ended on a beach in Zanzibar. It took us simply under two weeks to full the trip.

What tour firm did you use and why?
This tour was with Intrepid Travel, and we selected to work with them due to their strong dedication to responsible and sustainable travel. We weren’t disappointed in that choice – they definitely stroll the talk in that regard, and we were so happy to see that.
Why did you select a tour rather than touring independently?
For a lot of what we desired to see, we wouldn’t be able to journey independently anyway (through the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti) as it’s too extremely regulated. And additionally because each as soon as in awhile it’s simply good to take a break and let one other person do all of the planning for once!
What did you want about the Tanzania Safari tour? What was your favourite part?
The Intrepid crew that was with us were all top-notch – loved the guides and the meals provided was diverse and delicious. Also, one of many extra surprising aspects of the tour was how off-the-beaten-path they took us.
We dined within the homes of locals in small cities and handed round banana beer and wine in a straw hut. We loved the very native really feel to a lot of the tour and that was one thing we didn’t expect.
What was the most memorable or eventful a half of your trip?
Camping within the Serengeti! Listening to all of the wild animals round us at night and waking as a lot as enjoy espresso in sight of a tower of giraffes were experiences that we will be speaking about for years to come.
Was there something you didn’t like about the Tanzania Safari tour?
I am an introvert so did discover it fairly taxing at times to be constantly round so many people. Thankfully, the tour group was actually fairly smaller than regular (there were solely 12 of us the place I think they can take as a lot as 24), so it wasn’t as bad for me because it could have been!
Overall we did have a actually enjoyable group although so I simply needed to discover a while to steal away for myself when I could. Usually plugging in my headphones all through the lengthy journey days provided me with the seclusion I craved.
Did you eat something amazing in your trip?
All of the meals was actually so good. A lot of savoury stews which I didn’t tire of! Tanzanians actually know how to spice well.
What impressed you to take this safari tour or journey to Tanzania?
Africa has lengthy been on our want list and honestly, I am kind of embarrassed that it took us this lengthy to get there! Images of Zanzibar’s seashores are what drove us to Tanzania first, and attending to benefit from the Serengeti was one other brilliant aspect of the actual tour we took. I actually hope to return one day.
Would you recommend this tour? Would you change something about it?
I would completely recommend this tour, however with one important change. The tour requires one night in Dar Es Salaam, however as a group, we implored our guides to skip it and take us straight to Zanzibar!
It made one journey day solely barely longer and everybody on the tour was so grateful that we did. We weren’t going to have a lot time in Dar anyways (and it’s reported to be a bit dangerous), and it gave us some extra time in Stone Town which we adored!
Do you think the Tanzania Safari tour would be good for a brand new traveler? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Tanzania, being fairly an impoverished nation, can be a bit an excessive amount of to take for a brand new traveler. To do it in a tour would take that edge off a bit, and maybe make a beginner really feel a bit extra secure.
